Northern Irish Brands to Love

Having been raised in a beautiful place like Northern Ireland, I have a real appreciation for the truly beautiful. And so when I can buy beautiful pieces from beautiful local brands, I will!

Below I have compiled a few of my favourite Northern Irish brands along with a little bit about each of them. Click the links to be taken directly to them. Happy shopping…..

Taylor Yates

TY has my heart and has quite the presence in my handbag collection too! Not only are their pieces stunning and classic, they are also designed by a North Coast based mum and daughter duo called Karen and Ellen who take great pride in creating these timeless pieces. Each bag is designed with a special woman in the lives in mind. Each bag is meticulously crafted by hand in Somerset to the highest standards and their pieces have been seen in Elle and Cosmopolitan magazines to name but a few! They have an ongoing partnership with Glow NI, a Belfast based charity working to support local women suffering from a wide range of mental health and social issues. The first picture is one of the pieces they have designed specifically to aid Glow NI and yes I have one in my collection.

Lines & Current

If you’re a lover of clean lines with a boho twist then L&C is for you! That’s how the creator, Rebekah describes her designs and I couldn’t agree more. Her designs are beautifully chic and can go with a multitude of personal styles, whether you love to layer or keep it simple. From Jewellery to sunglasses, bags to headwear, Lines & Current truly has something for everyone. L&C donate 10% of all profits to SOS Children’s Villages who support children who have been separated from their families and help them grow with love and the assurance of a secure future.

Kindred of Ireland

Kindred is a stunningly peaceful brand. They have brought Irish Linen back to the forefront of the industry in a slow and sustainable way, creating timeless chic pieces that will stand the test of time. Kindred pieces are packed with personality whilst also being adaptable to your personal style. Their garments are interchangeable and can be worn in sets or as individual statement pieces. Kindred work with Flourish NI to support those who have been affected human trafficking, with 10% of all sales going to their ‘sew and skill‘ programme.

Outside In

I’ve been a fan of Outside In for many years now. This brand truly epitomises the meaning of giving back. Oi have made it their mission to be there for the people experiencing homelessness. They use a Wear One Share One concept, meaning for every piece you buy an additional item is gifted to someone in need. From headwear to hoodies, sweatshirts and t-shirts their pieces are both well made and stylish. If you love a vintage or retro look you’ll especially love their sweatshirts and fleeces.

Hope Macaulay

If you love a knit, then Hope Macaulay is the brand for you! Not only are their pieces made in Northern Ireland, they’re all made by hand by local women. They do what they can for the environment, sourcing responsibly and contributing to local environmental charities. Their pieces are made to order so there is no wastage and with them being made locally the carbon footprint is kept minimal. Hope’s designs are quirky and fun whilst being adaptable for multiple personal styles and seasons. Some have called her pieces Dopamine Dressing staples! Her main focus currently is cardigans with them being featured in a range of magazines including Vogue and Sports Illustrated and she is loved by big names such as Halsey, Jennifer Hudson, Robert Sheehan and Gigi Hadid. There is also a wide range of different products from bags and hats to tops and skirts! If you want to live in knits, Hope Macaulay is the place to go!
